TRENTON — Tuesday is the final day to register to vote in New Jersey's June 7 primary election.
All 120 seats in the state Legislature are up for grabs. This is the first election since legislative districts were redrawn to reflect shifts in population shown in the 2010 Census.
A new Election Law Enforcement Commission report shows the candidates have collected $12 million in campaign reserves.
The report show Democrats had $8.2 million as of May 6, and Republicans had just under $4 million.
There are few contested primaries, so most of the money will be used in fall election campaigns.
ELEC executive director Jeff Brindle says pay-to-play laws have influenced fund-raising. The amount raised so far is 2 percent higher than 2007, the last time the Senate and Assembly ran together.
